Few Days Left to Export Notes Search Data
In my previous post, I confirmed that Google is officially ending the Notes Labs Feature.
But, there is another update that is rolling all over the Internet stating that the Google Labs Google Notes experiment will end by July 2024. Basically, Google is giving a bit more time for users to download their notes content by the end of next month. After this period, they won’t be offered any extra time to retrieve their information.
Google Notes
Notes is an experiment that was initiated last year to allow users to leave a remark on search results with their thoughts, ideas, and observations. The idea was to exchange information and together help each other find the right piece of information and experience. It was created with the idea that it would be helpful and provide insights into real people and their experiences.
However, after analyzing engagement and running multiple tests, Google eventually decided to halt the experiment and shut down the Google notes feature.
Update To Documentation
Even official documentation was released by the Google team informing about shutting down the experiment and the deadline to download data using Google Takeout. It is a Google Account feature that allows users to export its content from their respective Google Account. In fact, users can export all their crucial data from other Google components like Google Photos, Google Drive, or Google Calander using Google Takeout. You can export a maximum of 56 different types of content using this feature.
Official Announcement by Google:
“Notes is winding down at the end of July 2024. If you created a note, your notes content is available to download using Google Takeout through the end of August 2024.”
